Mitchell is a highly experienced Sports Physiotherapist and Director of True Active Physiotherapy. His experiences include;

  • Current AFL Men's Physiotherapist with Collingwood Football Club.

  • AFLW Head Physiotherapist with Melbourne Football Club.

  • Physiotherapist with Vic Fury and Vixen's Development Squad.

  • Netball Victoria Physiotherapist with U17's and U19's State Teams.

  • Consulting Physiotherapist with Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre.

With 10 years experience as a Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, Mitchell enjoys leading the True Active team in providing high-quality outcomes and maintaining consistency in the care they provide. He is committed to delivering an exceptional experience for all clients, ensuring each feels supported, understood, and empowered throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Clinically, Mitchell has a particular interest in working with individuals who have ACL injuries, hip and groin pain, and shoulder instability. These conditions require a comprehensive and individualized approach, and I pride myself on developing treatment plans that are rooted in evidence-based practices and tailored to meet each person’s unique goals.

Through a combination of hands-on therapy, advanced techniques, and focused exercise programs, I help clients recover, perform at their best, and prevent future injuries. Athena Nicolaou

Physiotherapist

With a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science, Masters in Physiotherapy and a  background in strength and conditioning, Athena is passionate about assisting individuals achieve their full potential by providing comprehensive, and targeted rehabilitation.
 
Athena’s passion lies in the development of youth athletes and young adults. Having worked within various sporting clubs, Athena understands the unique challenges that athletes face, and the importance of a tailored treatment plan based on their goals and needs. She has a special interest in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries, particularly lower limb injuries of the knee and ankle.

Whether you’re an athlete looking to return to peak performance, or an individual seeking relief from musculoskeletal pain, Athena is dedicated to working with you towards your goals.

Ashley Chong

Physiotherapist

Ashley is a dedicated sports physiotherapist committed to helping clients build resilient bodies and recover from injuries stronger than before. With extensive experience in musculoskeletal outpatients, fracture clinic, and acute orthopaedics, she possesses a comprehensive understanding of the rehab process—from initial injury management to achieving individual goals.

 

Her background in competitive Gymnastics and CrossFit provides her with unique insight into the emotional and physical challenges associated with sports injuries, enabling her to offer empathetic and sport-specific care. Additionally, her experience with long-distance and trail running has led to a special interest in guiding return to running, helping runners safely regain strength, endurance, and confidence after injury.

 

Whether working with elite athletes or weekend warriors, Ashley tailors her rehab programs to optimise performance, prevent re-injury, and support continued strength and resilience.

 

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) degree from Monash University.
